Bartender / Barback

Job Summary:

The Bradbury Bistro is a small, family-owned business in downtown Anderson, recently featured in the Oct 2023 issue of TOWN Magazine. We are looking for a Bartender or Barback support to join our team. The successful candidate will prepare and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages to patrons, oversee the stock of liquor and bar supplies, and collect money for drinks served.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Receives orders from patrons and waitstaff.
• Prepares and serves liquor, mixed drinks, wine, beer, and nonalcoholic drinks as ordered.
• Ensures that fruit and other garnishes are prepared ahead of the opening of the bar.
• Maintains the bar and keeps it clean and organized.
• Attractively displays glasses and liquor bottles.
• Ensures that customers are of legal drinking age by checking photo IDs.
• Collects money from customers for drinks prepared and served.
• Uses proper judgment and, when necessary, refuses service to patrons who are intoxicated or disruptive.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of drink preparation or service.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and focus on serving customers.
• Ability to learn cash register software used by bistro.

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Pay: Starts at $15/hr; increases based on productivity and professionalism

Expected hours: 16 - 40 per week

Benefits:Flexible schedule

Pay rate: Hourly pay, weekly paycheck

Shift:Day, Evening and Weekend shifts available

Work setting: Upscale casual restaurant Wine bar / coffee bar

Ability to commute/relocate: Anderson, SC 29621: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work

Education and Experience:

• Completion of mixology, barkeeping, or other related training (Preferred).
• At least one year of related experience (Preferred).

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods standing and preparing drinks.
• Ability to complete orders quickly and accurately.
• Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds.
• Must be legal drinking age or older.
