Nabors Sewer Plant Operator (SPO) - Alaska in Anchorage, Alaska
Nabors Alaska Drilling operates in the State of Alaska with some of the most versatile oil and gas exploration rigs with special design for Arctic operations .
Title: Sewer Plant Operator (SPO)
Key Relevant Tasks/Functions:
Responsible for keeping the camp in good, safe working conditions and operating smoothly.
Operators need to be State certified in water and waste-water (licensed) and maintain their certifications.
Operator will read and become familiar with duties and responsibilities of the Camp SPCC Plan.
Daily SPO Logs completed and E-mailed or faxed to appropriate personnel.
Record daily potable water test for chlorine residuals and turbidity. Camps discharging will fill out complete water/waste-water log.
Take monthly water sample and deliver to Arctic Fox in Deadhorse with PO# assigned. Sampling will be taken as per ADEC and Nabors guidelines.
Fax chlorine residual and turbidity sheet to camp manager monthly. Sheet needs to be complete, accurate and legible.
Monitor fuel, oil, water, and gray water levels in tanks and equipment affiliated with camp operations.
Check camp generator operation and service as needed.
Insure adequate inventory of expendable parts; filters, oil, light bulbs etc.
Clean lift stations and grease traps as necessary, minimum 1 per hitch.
Inspect sewer line for leaks and verify heat trace is working.
Monitor SAA/RAA/UAA sites.
Check with head cook daily for any required maintenance.
Conduct daily walk-thru of camp and check plumbing, lighting and heating fixtures for operation and leaks. Repair when necessary.
Repair minor electrical problems or call an electrician for assistance. (Operator will perform Electrical work only to their level of expertise)
Keep walkways, stairs, and landings clear of ice and snow.
Expedite people, materials and mail for rig Toolpusher as needed.
Familiarize yourself with fire alarm panel, emergency evacuation plan, and other alarms in camp. Conduct fire drills as per Nabors policy. Perform monthly fire extinguisher inspection as required.
Plan for bad weather conditions when they arise, and monitor tank levels (fuel, water and waste-water).
Notify Toolpusher when leaving location especially if weather is in phase conditions.
Contact the Toolpusher or camp manager if you have problems or questions or concerns.
Be safety conscience and adhere to Nabors HSE Policies. Including HSE meetings and participating in the Pro-Active HSE system.
If the camp is operating without supporting a Nabors operation, the SPO is the responsible person for managing the daily operations of the camp.
SPO needs to be trained and certified before operating a loader. These duties include unloading groceries, plowing snow and camp moves only if a loader operator is not available. For camp moves a rig loader operator should be used if possible.
Plan and organize camp move: Checking moving hydraulics, tire pressure, manage fluid levels before move, trucking, location preparation, blow-down procedures, etc.
Knowledge of how the satellite TV systems work. Tuning the dish in after moves.
Able to works 14 or 14 days off, including holidays, weekends and or days and nights
Other duties as may be assigned.
Successful applicant must provide transportation costs to and from Alaska.
Minimum requirement - Level 2 certification for Water and Wastewater Treatment
