Job DescriptionLFS, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Trident Seafoods. LFS has locations in Bellingham, Seattle and Poulsbo, WA and Anchorage, Cordova, Dutch Harbor, Homer, Kenai, Sitka, Naknek and Dillingham, AK.Job Summary: Looking for a retail sales clerk to represent our business and to sell merchandise to customers by performing the following duties. This is a Seasonal Position.Essential Functions: Must have customer service skills with the ability to interact with customers in person and over the phone. Previous experience with a point of sale program or cash register is helpful.Stocks shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise.Sets up advertising displays or arranges merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales.Stamps, marks, or tags price on merchandise.Obtains merchandise requested by customer or receives merchandise selected by customer.Answers customer's questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.Totals price and tax on merchandise purchased by customer to determine bill.Accepts payment and makes change.Wraps or bags merchandise for customers.Cleans shelves, counters, or tables.Removes and records amount of cash in register at end of shift.Calculates sales discount to determine price.Standing up to 6 hours at a time.Ensure excellent retail experience for customer.Additional Responsibilities: Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.Organizational Core Competencies:Customer Focus: Builds customer confidence by ensuring expectations and commitments are met. Works effectively within a diverse environment and builds strong relationships that helps and supports fellow employees in contributing to the overall success of the company.RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:Education:One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Experience:Special Training/Skills:Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of email, spreadsheet software, word processing software and presentation software.Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
