JOB SUMMARY

  • UIC is seeking a Project Executive candidate to lead a new division focused on vertical construction in Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley. The successful candidate should have a strong background in project management, estimating and progressive leadership experience. For the right candidate pay is no object. This position must be a self starter ready to build a business unit and supporting team from the ground up.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Management Responsibilities:

  • Build and grow new construction division within UIC Family of Companies.

  • Estimate and manage projects initially.

  • Develop a team to grow operations

  • Business development and customer/client outreach

  • Assure adequate systems and procedures are maintained and monitored with regard to projects, proposals, bids, budgeting, financial benchmarks and target objectives.

  • Working closely with UIC Senior Management, applicant will promote and pursue new areas of work opportunities and recommend potential alliances necessary to secure work.

  • Provide on-site working leadership for construction projects.

  • Help ensure HSET policies and procedures of UIC are implemented.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge & Critical Skills/Expertise:

  • Must be able to manage vertical construction projects in the Anchorage and Mat-Su region.

  • Project estimation for projects in excess of $20M

  • Must have strong managerial and business skills including project management.

  • A solid understanding of staffing requirements and skills needed for organizational performance.

  • Understanding of cost accounting, budgetary practices, human resource management, and strategic planning.

  • Support management, revenue growth, company goals, and staffing requirements.

  • Must have an understanding of Alaska Native, American Indian and multicultural working environments.

EXPERIENCE

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of related experience combined.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years Project Management background in the Anchorage / Mat-Su region.

  • Proposal development and estimating experience.

  • Staff development, training, and supervisory experience.

  • Demonstrated track record of completing successful projects with repeat clients.

  • Excellent written/verbal skills, computer proficiency.

  • Physical Demands:

  • In addition to field construction duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to read text on a computer screen and in hard copy, stand or sit, talk, and hear.

  • Exposure to moderate levels of noise in a well-lit, well-ventilated and moderately paced office environment.

  • Occasionally required to carry/lift up to 50 lbs.
