Applies skill in Mold set-up, Process adjustments, machine operation and maintenance execution on injection molding, robots, auxiliary equipment/machinery and tools related in the production process, to comply with regulatory and company guidelines

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform tooling change over and operate assigned plastic processing equipment to produce complex parts and new products, as well as production parameter adjustments, etc.

  • Analyze basic equipment and process performance data to identify improvement opportunities and/or tendencies. Trouble shoot plastic process and equipment’s including ancillary equipment and bring parts into specifications for size, appearance, flash, splay, cycle time, etc. Perform minor repairs on equipment such as heater bands replacement, TCUs setup, machine alignments, machine cleaning and daily and weekly PM checklist.

  • Perform inspections, sampling, and measurements to ensure products have been built in conformance with specifications, using precision measuring instruments.

  • Record traceable information on device history records, receive work orders, and may enter information into the system. Enter production data, such as machine downtime, scrap, maintenance, etc., into the appropriate data collection system and identify opportunities for continuous improvement with molds, dies, change overs, etc.

  • Collect and document test data.

  • On time arrival to work, regular attendance without excessive absenteeism, and working a full 8 hour or longer work period.

  • Other incidental duties (e.g. occasional photo copying or deliveries).

Education and Experience:

  • Industrial Mechanic Certificate (or equivalency), two (2) years experience in complex medical device plastic processing, required.

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent, preferred.

  • Availability to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends.

Additional Skills:

  • Mechanical aptitude and problem solving is must.

  • Ability to operate plastic processing equipment for tooling changes, improve process parameters changes, and read and follow drawings.

  • Able to read, comprehend, and speak English and good communication skills required.

  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision by following detailed manufacturing instructions on routine tasks, and general instructions on new lines of work and complex special assignments.

  • Knowledge to generate work orders and reports in Maximo maintenance program.

  • Adhere to Edwards Environmental Health and Safety and Quality guidelines as they relate to the manufacturing floor operations and clean room medical device manufacturing.

  • Accountable to adhere to applicable Edwards Environmental, Health and Safety and Quality System requirements to ensure our products and services consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Work in a Team environment.

  • Good computer skills.

  • Ability to generate daily reports focus on equipment information, manufacturing issues and conditions.

  • Skills in creating and managing projects for continuous improvement.

  • Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control.
