Mohawk Lifts LLC Facilties and Grounds Technician in Amsterdam, New York

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Facilities and Grounds Maintenance Technician is responsible for upkeep of the interior and exterior of the facility as a primary responsibility. This could include mowing, weed whacking, snow plowing, trash removal, janitorial tasks, and simple maintenance tasks as assigned. This position works under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and works closely and could receive daily assignments from the Maintenance Technician. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Helps maintain facility upkeep and repairs including snow plowing, shoveling, sanding/salting and grounds upkeep.- Vacuums, sweeps, mops, and deep cleans upstairs offices and breakrooms- Removes trash from around the facility and transfers to dumpsters- Involved in deep cleaning of the facility including but not limited to; - Vacuum, mop, sweep common areas (bathrooms, breakrooms, etc.) - Light facility painting and upkeep - Vacuum racking, walls, and other areas for deep clean- Involved in deep clean and maintenance tasks on plasma table- Support organization and 5S projects- Use hand tools, power tools, electrical and pressure metering equipment, and overhead crane- Actively participate in cross training and continuous improvement assignments - Learn new skills & techniques and equipment operation as assigned- Helps maintain manufacturing equipment & systems to ensure function- Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE)- Must be familiar with and adhere to lockout tagout policy- May work overtime as needs required- Other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, and SKILLS: Mandatory: - Ability to use advanced mechanical tools (air impact tools) and Overhead Crane. - Must perform all work duties in a safe manner. - Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with management and co-workers. - Must be detail oriented with attention to accuracy. - Must be able to read, write, and speak English language and be understood. - Basic shop math. - Must be able to work with minimum supervision. Desired: - Prior experience working in a manufacturing setting mandatory. - Desired to have 2-4 years of property/facility grounds and maintenance experience.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Physical activity includes walking, standing, sitting, pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, bending, reaching above shoulders and lifting up to 50 pounds. If work demands require lifting in excess of 50 pounds, the use of a mechanical device or initiation of a two-person lift is required.
