Barilla Netherlands is part of Barilla Benelux, which has an annual turnover of approximately €80 million. The Benelux office is based in Brussels, while the Dutch team operates from Amsterdam (Zuidas), sharing the space with Barilla’s Global Leadership Team. The Dutch team is small (4 members), hands-on, and maintains an informal work culture.

The primary goal of the Dutch team is to drive the growth of the Wasa and Barilla brands through strategic innovations, plans, and promotions. Wasa holds significant importance in the Dutch market, being the fourth largest globally, and the focus is on consolidating and expanding its market leadership. For Barilla, the aim is to establish it as a key player in meal solutions within both retail and foodservice channels, fostering business growth.

Role Overview

As the Junior Key Account Manager, you will manage various food retail and foodservice accounts, including Superunie members, Lidl, Bol, Sligro, and Shell. Your responsibilities will include creating annual customer plans, overseeing negotiations, developing promotional strategies, and launching new products with a customer-centric approach. You will monitor customer performance, including margins and market share, and implement data-driven strategies to meet or exceed targets. Your tailored plans will support the growth of both Barilla and Wasa across all channels. Additionally, you will seek and develop new business opportunities to drive growth.

This role involves close collaboration with the International Foodservice team, the International Key Account Management Team, and the Belgium Sales Team to adapt global and regional strategies for local implementation. You will drive fact-based initiatives and have ample opportunities to expand category growth at your accounts. Success in this position requires an entrepreneurial spirit, strategic insight, and strong negotiation skills.

Reporting Structure

The Junior Key Account Manager will report to the Head of Sales Benelux and will work alongside the Dutch and Belgium teams to enhance existing accounts and develop e-commerce opportunities.

    Your Profile

  • Minimum 2/3 years of commercial experience within the FMCG sector

  • Strong commercial drive, customer-focused approach, analytical mindset, and entrepreneurial spirit

  • Proactive, responsible, self-sufficient, with strong people and learning agility

  • Excellent communication and persuasion skills

  • Initiative-driven, with the ability to maintain focus

  • Leadership skills with a growth mindset and commitment to diversity and inclusion
