About the Role

You are responsible for growing Elsevier’s research intelligence solutions through new sales and for the growth of the existing base. (renewals and upsell/cross-sell). You maintain customer relationships and leverage internal and external resources to drive growth.

Responsibilities

  • Providing customer support and after sales follow-up;

  • Achieving revenue targets for Research Intelligence solutions across new business and renewals;

  • Planning and execution annual account (jointly with other sales resources where required);

  • Reviewing sales results and forecasts regularly via Clari and other sales enablement tools and adjust actions accordingly;

  • Ensuring Salesforce is always up to date;

  • Gathering, monitoring and evaluating competitive information and provide market feedback to the business to enhance product development and GMT;

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with all relevant decision makers and influencers at the customer level to support Elsevier’s strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • Have extensive sales experience at senior levels and a background in complex solution-sales approach - “consultative selling”;

  • Have a degree in a technical field;

  • Be self motivated and driven with a proven track record selling technology and solutions;

  • Have experience in strategic account planning; can connect the dots within customer’s institutions;

  • Able to operate on an operational, tactical and strategic level with experience in building out (expanding) business with a customer;

  • Have experience selling enterprise software and working in an international matrixed organisation;

  • Have experience working in or with research administration and management functions;

  • Have knowledge in regional or national research programs, collaboration networks, and key opinion leaders.
