The soon fully refurbished Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel has the position of a Groups, Meetings & Events Manager available, in one of Europe's most dynamic cities.

What are my responsibilities?

As a Groups, Meetings & Events Manager you will be looking after our Groups, Meetings and Events team at the Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel. You and your team will responsible for handling and managing enquiries for Corporate Groups (10 bedrooms or more), Local Catering (Meetings or Events without or up to 10 bedrooms) and Corporate Meetings (Meetings or Events with 10 or more bedrooms) from the enquiry stage to the execution.

This position also ensures associate satisfaction and the development of the team members. You will train, motivate and coach your team and you will serve as a role model. You will provide guidance and feedback to help individuals to develop and strengthen skills and abilities needed to accomplish their work objectives.

We are looking for a Groups, Meetings & Events Manager who lives life to discover and brings personal style to every experience. You are passionate about sales, events and you want to inspire your team. You build relationships and interact with others in a way that builds openness, trust, and confidence in the pursuit of organizational goals and lasting relationships. You understand customer needs and set high standards of performance.

You are able to identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities and evaluate alternatives and solutions. You have strong public presentation skills and you are able to maintain performance if challenges in the workplace occur.

You interact with others to build openness, trust and confidence. You support ambassadors with diverse styles, motivations and cultural perspective to create an atmosphere of inclusion while maintaining high standards of performance for yourself and others.

To be eligible for this position you…

• Have a bachelor degree in Hotel Management, Event Management or related major.

• Have experience in event management or similar role.

• Are fluent in English, any other language is a plus.

A major investment has been made in the hotel which will result in completely renovated guest rooms and public areas, including a brand-new bar, restaurant and rooftop bar & terrace. The hotel will expand from 402 to 500 rooms and an additional conference center will be constructed. The Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel has a very high focus on sustainability and will aim to become an enhancement to the city of Amsterdam.
