Asset Care (Maintenance) Manager

The Asset Care (Maintenance) Manager will support operations at the Amherstburg site. The position provides essential managerial leadership in the areas of Safety, Plant Maintenance, Asset Performance, Manufacturing Excellence, CAPEX Budgeting, Planning and Project Management. Position requires a strong knowledge of fast paced packaging equipment. The Asset Care (Maintenance) Manager will need to be able to set up a 5-year asset care and replacement strategy, including a capital expenditure program. A strong leadership and communication abilities is critical for this role. The incumbent should be capable of innovative thinking and driven to maintain momentum while maintaining a balanced industrial climate. Must be able to prioritize and balance multiple projects, tasks and interpersonal needs in an environment that is always multifaceted. Ideal candidate must be able to work across multiple functions.
Specifically:
Provide guidance in process, design, and engineering required for the proper planning, budgeting, design, and implementation of projects.
Implements process enhancements to improve the processes and efficiency.
Assures equipment reliability to increase production line productivity measured through Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE)
Tracks standard manufacturing and warehouse measures and prioritizes plant maintenance opportunities.
Applies visual factory concepts to improve asset utilization and plant performance.
Directs and builds the capability of Team Leads and Tradesperson.
Tracks standard manufacturing measures, prioritizes and plans plant maintenance opportunities.
Incumbent assumes a key role in Governance e.g. observing and acting on Diageo’s CoBC
Decides type and extent of plant engineering and related programs for accomplishing strategies and objectives for Amhersburg
This role has Functional and Managerial responsibility to:
Create and oversee Plant Capex (Capital Expenditures), Departmental and Maintenance budgets. Ensure the right fiscal controls are in place and observed.
Ensure regulatory compliance and control in all areas.
Meet or exceed the annual plan for budget and critical metrics, which includes proposing cost saving proposals and project summaries, including alternatives and recommendations
Prepare bid packages, scope of work, equipment specifications etc.
Oversee direct and/or indirect reports and outside contractors. Establish and lead project teams.
Provides engineering and technical expertise to achieve lowest cost while providing high quality products and customer service levels.
Identify, implement and promote technology to improve safety, quality, efficiencies, productivity and reduce cost.
Develop Diageo culture, principles and values. Energize, Engage & Develop People.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
Minimum of 8 years of technical /Production/Engineering/Maintenance Management in consumer products/goods or manufacturing. Preferred experience in Packaging.
Shown success, performing as a manager in a production organization.
Consistent record in running multiple projects technically and financially.
Leadership - Demonstrated capability:
Able to set objectives, define roles, assign tasks, motivate to success.
Exhibits outstanding team building and communication skills.
Ability to influence, persuade, convince, compromise, build consensus.
Able to resolve conflict.
Technical Competence:
In-depth knowledge of project management, technical operations and engineering.
Engineering Degree: BSME, BSEE, BS ChE preferred.
Microsoft Office proficiency
SAP Knowledge highly preferred
