Job Description

Danfoss Power Solutions has an immediate opportunity for a Strategic Buyer, on our Global Procurement team, in our Ames, IA facility.

The Strategic Buyer is responsible for operational procurement activities within our local/regional plant sites, acting as a key point of contact for our suppliers and within the organization.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

• Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

• Support organization goals and objectives with emphasis on cost savings, supplier performance, contribution margin, and sales

• Material change management and PPAP activities

• Procurement master data maintenance

• Quoting and contract review, negotiation, and evaluation

• Supplier accountability for on time delivery and reimbursement claims

• Negotiation and implementation of inventory solutions (CMI, VMI, 3PL, etc.)

• Supplier capacity management

Required (basic) qualifications

• Degree within business, logistics, or supply chain, and 1+ years' of experience in the procurement, supply chain, or parts/supplier management field/s. Degrees in other relevant fields of study within manufacturing, quality, and or engineering will be considered.

Or

• 3+ years' experience in procurment, supply chain or parts/supplier management in lieu of a degree

Preferred qualifications

• SAP or other ERP systems (ex. Oracle, JD Edwards) working knowledge.

• Siemens Teamcenter PLM knowledge.

• Experience in negotiating quotes and contracts

• Experience with engineering changes and qualification activities (PPAP).
