Job Description:

The Iowa State University Athletics Department is seeking hard working, responsible, motivated candidates for an entry-level, associate position supporting Athletics Academic Services. This position will be exposed to professional aspects of collegiate athletics academic development activities in a progressive learning mode.

  • Preparing and scheduling academic support services

  • Assessing at-risk student needs

  • Preparing progress reports

  • Engaging in meetings with students and coaches

  • Monitoring academic status

  • Handling academic projects

  • Establishing and maintaining an environment conducive to the welfare, personal development and academic success of the student-athletes

  • Establishing and maintaining effective interactions with students, colleagues, university coaches and staff, and the public

  • Commitment to learning and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of the University, Big 12 Conference, and NCAA

The successful candidate must possess effective communication and multi-tasking skills, ability to work collaboratively and maintain confidentiality, and be highly organized. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body. Requires ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Position Details: Structured similar to a post-grad internship. $28,000/year plus overtime pay; receives paid time off; full benefits package.

Term of Appointment: Through June 2025

*Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
