Temple University Seasonal Lifeguard (Temporary) in Ambler, Pennsylvania

Summary: Temple University, Ambler Campus seeks Seasonal Lifeguards.

The pool opens the first week of June and will close by the end of September. We seek individuals to work special pool events throughout the summer and early fall. The work schedule is predominantly weekdays, with some weekend shifts available.

Must be responsible and reliable. Strong communication and excellent customer service skills are critical. The ability to work with K12 students/campers is important.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with opening the pool.

  • Monitor pool-related activities closely throughout shift and identify any safety issues.

  • Direct swimmers out of the pool in hazardous conditions.

  • Monitor weather reports closely to ensure safety of swimmers and guests.

  • Aid swimmers and guests when appropriate or necessary.

  • Maintain a clean environment in and around the pool.

Required Education & Experience:

Must have prior lifeguard experience. Red Cross lifeguard and CPR certification(s)required.

This position requires a background check.

This position requires Child Abuse Certifications prior to the commencement of service.
