Description We are seeking a Purchaser to join our team in Amarillo, Texas. This role involves managing the sourcing department, overseeing procurement activities, and developing sustainable relationships with suppliers. The job function is in the industry and does not require any form of permanent, contract, or permanent employment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the sourcing department to align procurement activities with company goals.

• Monitor market trends and identify potential risks and opportunities in the supply chain.

• Manage and mentor buyers, fostering detail oriented growth and development.

• Work closely with other departments, such as production, finance, engineering, and sales, to ensure procurement activities are in line with organizational objectives.

• Implement a system to evaluate new vendors and rate existing ones.

• Negotiate with suppliers to attain the best value for the company.

• Establish procedures for the receipt of purchase items, comparing received items against ordered ones and approving supplier invoices.

• Formulate purchasing policies that accommodate inventory targets and production demands.

• Strengthen and develop supplier relationships by participating in trade shows, supplier meetings, and conferences.

• Contribute to lean events and continuous process improvement within the organization.

• Utilize sales forecasts, demand, and historical data to place, cancel, expedite and delay orders in a timely fashion based on vendor lead time while controlling inventory at budgeted levels.

• Collaborate with suppliers to reduce lead times and overall inventory level through vendor stocking or other programs.

• Participate in the management of E& O inventory.

• Engage with suppliers to rectify recurring defects through the Supplier Corrective Action procedure.

• Oversee staffing, recruiting, training, and coaching of direct reports, including performance reviews. Requirements • Job title: Purchaser

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a purchasing role

• Proficiency in Chef software

• Advanced understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning

• Experience with Epicor software

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Knowledge of ERP Solutions

• Experience with About Time software

• Understanding of Accounting Functions

• Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP) processes

• Knowledge of Buying Processes

• Strong communication skills
