Happy State Bank - a division of Centennial Bank Mortgage Lender Supervisor in Amarillo, Texas

The Mortgage Lender Supervisor solicits residential first mortgages through contacts with realtors, builders, and developers. Interview loan applicants and makes credit decisions. This role supervises designated Mortgage Loan Originators. The Mortgage Lender Supervisor also provides strategic direction and leadership to ensure corporate and divisional goals are met. This position is responsible for working with the management team to ensure mortgage loan production meets established objectives while assuring the production meets quality standards and compliance guidelines.

This position is available at any Happy State Bank location in Texas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Work with assigned branch office to ensure awareness of home loan products. This duty is performed daily.

  2. Handle referrals from branch office and provide appropriate follow-up. This duty is performed daily.

  3. Develop referral contacts (realtors, builders, professional and personal contacts). This duty is performed daily.

  4. Analyze financial data to determine creditworthiness. This duty is performed daily.

  5. Maintain knowledge of available loan products, processing procedures and underwriting guidelines. This duty is performed daily.

  6. Take borrower applications. This duty is performed daily.

  7. Utilize communication and access of daily rates, credit reports and AUS responses and transmitting to processor. This duty is performed daily.

  8. Collect appropriate documentation from each applicant and deliver loan package to processor in a timely manner. This duty is performed daily.

  9. Maintain high levels of customer service while managing each applicant's and support staff's expectations. This duty is performed daily.

  10. Attend and participate in all lending meetings as required. This duty is performed as needed.

  11. Complete BSA/AML training and other compliance training as necessary. This duty is performed as needed.

  12. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. This duty is performed daily.

  13. Supervise designated mortgage originators. This duty is performed daily.

  14. Set and monitor production and income target goals for originators. This duty is performed weekly.

  15. Keep originators informed of new products, changes in procedures or products, and any other tools that will help them be more productive. This duty is performed daily.

  16. Be present in the field to assist with sales to market realtors, closing agents, attorneys, and other centers of influence to aid in production for the market originators. This duty is performed daily.

  17. Work with operations manager to insure good flow between production and operations/processing. This duty is performed monthly.

  18. Monitor service levels delivered to customers. This duty is performed daily.

  19. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 6 years related experience and/or training, and 3 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and understand general business/company related articles and professional journals; Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

CRITICAL THIN ING SKILLS

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

This position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
