The role you’ll contribute:

Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are

equally respectful to all. Primary responsibility is the provision of medication distributive functions and pharmacy

operational tasks, which includes but is not limited to assisting the pharmacist with all duties of preparing and dispensing

of medications, inventory management, and regulatory compliance. Performs duties necessary for the effective daily

operation of all department services and programs. Accurately responds to medication dispensing requests, prepares

medications for pharmacist final review/check, delivers checked medications, and returns unused or expired medications

to appropriate pharmacy areas.

• Pharmacy Operations•Actively performs all pharmacy technician functions and maintains active proficiency in standard work parameters, hospital and pharmacy specific computer systems, and operational programs•Maintains operational expertise and competency and actively provides coverage of at least two of the following:•Central/distributive pharmacy operations•Sterile compounding•Decentral/ Automated Dispensing Cabinet delivery pharmacy operations•Controlled substance Handling AND at least one of the following:•Hazardous Medication Sterile Compounding •Quality Assurance & USP required sampling •Technician Inventory Check (i.e., tech check tech where authorized)•Medication History •Supporting Clinical Services •Purchasing and Inventory Mnagement-OR Maintains knowledge of the following: •Central/Distributive Pharmacy •IV Room/Sterile compounding•Decentral/ Automated Dispensing Cabinet delivery pharmacy operations•Controlled Substances handlingAND Performs primary job function as:•Medication History technician OR Inventory specialist •Participates in appropriate utilization of medication automation, technology, and computer systems. Maintains expertise in electronic health record system and be able to accurately interpret electronic records as needed•Accurately completes medication inventories and accurately prepares and dispenses patientspecific medication doses. Prevents improper drug, dose, dosage form selection, expiration dating, and barcode scanning issues when checking products•Performs oral and injectable compounding, if applicable•Carries out special projects or assignments as directed by supervisor or manager•Understands how to handle process and appropriately dispose of all waste materials, including all levels of hazardous waste, within the department. Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

EDUCATION REQUIRED :

· High School Grad or Equiv and 1 years experienc

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

• PTCB - Certified Pharmacy Technician

• Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians

• National Healthcareer Association

• Sterile Compounding & Aseptic Technique-IV Cert Course

• Registered Pharmacy Technician

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION:

REQUIRED:

•Applicable State Pharmacy Technician Registration (RPT)

•Sterile Compounding Certification, if applicable per state legislation

•Current certification from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), the Institute for the Certification

of Pharmacy Technicians (ICPT), or from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
