Job Description:

Position Overview: This individual will support international resource management and optimize operational needs of the International Development Group (IDG) based out of Europe. This position will support people-focused areas of new business pursuits and project implementation of European-funded international development work located anywhere throughout the globe. You will serve as a key point of contact with international coordination, resource management and risk mitigation pertaining to people resources and operational excellence in the execution of our projects around the globe.

Key Duties Include:

• New country Entry: Support, Compliance and Legal Considerations: Research international labor laws, regulations, and compliance requirements to ensure new pursuits/projects are aware of employment requirements, immigration issues, gratuity, etc. Partner with international development operations team and project delivery leaders to support new country start up.

• International Talent and Recruiting: Support international hiring by working with hiring managers to develop job descriptions, set the selection criteria, screen initial applicants to provide feedback to recruiting team, and schedule/interview prospective candidates in conjunction with Senior International Recruiter. Research effective recruitment strategies to attract diverse candidates and ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations.

• Employee hiring and Onboarding: In conjunction with legal counsel and human resource guidance, prepare local employee contracts, extension/renewals contracts and manage personnel files in accordance to home office and local country standard to ensure all information is included and adheres to local law requirements. Support new hire document submittal to enable hire, payroll and onboarding to the firm. Coordinate with Human Resources and Business technology teams on system improvements/enhancements to accurately capture global employee data.

• Outside Professional and Consultant Engagement: Support the business with engaging global/local outside professionals or consultants. In conjunction with subcontract, procurement and/or legal teams, draft consultant agreements, modifications and support the information needed to initiate payments and tracking of expirations/renewals as needed.

• Travel, Immigration, and International Assignment Support: Provide support and guidance to employees traveling internationally for work assignments or relocations, including assistance with visa applications, immigration procedures, personal tax and cultural integration. Liaise with internal/external resources to support as needed.

• Support International People Strategy and Programs: In partnership with the unit HR Business Partners, support implementing people strategies and policies that align with the organization's global goals and objectives while considering local regulations and cultural nuances in different countries. Support global compensation and benefits programs information for budgeting and annual salary adjustments. Ensure sound global market data, competitiveness and compliance with local regulations. Ensure all employees are completing company-wide training requirements in areas of compliance, quality, health and safety, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in areas of business, human resources, international relations, or other applicable field.

• Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience supporting international business in areas such as: people/resource management, business operations, human resources or project management.

• Excellent communication skills in German and English with strong interpersonal skills to enable ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams across different cultures, regions and timezones.

• Demonstrated Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapt to changing priorities and solve complex business challenges.

• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong preference given to candidates with ability to legally work in Germany, but candidates living in other EU locations may be considered.

• Solid understanding of project management methodologies and tools.

• Prior experience working at a multinational firm is preferred.

• Experience with a consulting or engineering firm is advantageous.

• Experience supporting GIZ, KfW or other international development agencies or official development assistance (ODA) is a plus.
