What is it that we do at Colonial Pipeline Company?

Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. Colonial transports various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, and fuels for the U.S. military through a pipeline system. Colonial transports approximately 45 percent of all fuel consumed on the East Coast, providing refined products to more than 50 million Americans.

About the Team Lead, Talent Development Programs Position

Colonial Pipeline Company is seeking an enthusiastic addition to our Talent Development team! The Team Lead for Talent Development Programs oversees and manages various HR talent development and early career programs leveraging university relationships and internal communications to attract program participants. The Early Career rotation program participants report to this role.

This position will manage and lead the entire lifecycle of several talent development programs (e.g., interns, Co-ops, early career rotation, and mentoring programs), including the planning, execution, and evaluation. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify program requirements and design effective solutions. Monitor program progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed. This role is key in the high-profile talent development programs to accelerate the attraction, development, and overall success of the best and brightest! The Team Lead of Talent Development Programs is crucial to developing and retaining our team members participating in these programs.

What You Get to Do:

Early Career Rotation Program:

  • Design, implement, and manage the early career rotation program.

  • Determine success metrics of early career programs and produce regular program updates and reports to internal stakeholders and external partners.

  • Partner with the Talent Development team on onboarding and development programs for program participants.

  • Evaluate program effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.

University Relationship Management:

  • Develop relationships with key university contacts, faculty members, and student organizations.

  • Plan and coordinate with Talent Acquisition and universities to promote internship, Co-Op, and/or job rotation opportunities for students.

  • Partner with the Communications and Talent Acquisition teams on social media campaigns, employer branding initiatives, and networking events.

Internship and Co-Op Programs:

  • Meet with HR Business Partners to identify and manage internship opportunities.

  • Advise key stakeholders (managers, HR Business Partners, etc.) on internship structure.

  • Recommend, develop, and/or coordinate Co-Op programs.

  • Onboard selected program participants.

  • Determine success metrics and produce regular program updates and reports to internal stakeholders and external partners.

  • Evaluate program effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.

Mentoring Program:

  • Design, implement, and manage formal mentoring program(s).

  • Determine success metrics and partner with HR Business Partners on implementation and tracking.

  • Partner with the Talent Development team on programs to guide mentors and mentees.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; will consider a combination of experience and/or education.

  • Ideally, 5+ years of Early Career (or similar) Program development and management experience.

  • University Relations experience.

  • Enterprise program development and management (e.g., mentoring program, interns, Co-Ops, etc.).

  • Skilled in designing learning-focused programs.

  • Project Management

  • Negotiation skills.

  • Gift for customer service and delivering in a timely manner.

  • High level of follow-through and attention to detail.

  • Commitment to consistently adhere to policies and procedures and be a positive example for others by demonstrating the Company’s core values of Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Safety, and Excellence in completing work assignments.

  • Self-motivated, have a phenomenal work ethic and looking for the right company to support your growth.
