What is it that we do at Colonial Pipeline Company?

Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. Colonial transports various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, and fuels for the U.S. military through a pipeline system. Colonial transports approximately 45 percent of all fuel consumed on the East Coast, providing refined products to more than 50 million Americans.

About the Strategic Project Manager (OE&I) Position

As a Strategic Project Manager for Optimization, Efficiency, and Innovation (OE&I), you will be responsible for leading high impact initiatives with a focus on achievement of cross functional organizational strategic objectives. This position will develop program / project plans, budgets, generate risk assessments and provide project leadership to ensure success. The Strategic Project Manager will manage multiple projects of varying size simultaneously, and their respective project teams. This role will manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives.

  • Ensure organizational interdependencies are identified, planned for, communicated effectively, and managed to enable effective delivery of program priorities.

  • Collaborating and liaising with external partners to achieve project milestones, deliverables, and benefits are delivered upon.

  • Facilitate project planning and ideation workshops.

  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensure project requirements and deliverables are captured, evaluated, and monitored.

  • Develop program / project specific KPIs to measure performance pre and post project.

  • Participate in internal and external working groups and deliver presentations to a range of groups / stakeholders.

  • Mentor other Project Managers

  • Valuate tools and techniques used by the organization to manage projects, identify opportunities for improvement and work with the PMO and other Project managers to implement.

  • Use independent discretion and judgment to solve complex problems regarding project or departmental-related work.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study from an accredited college or university; will consider a combination of experience and/or education.

  • Ideally, 8+ years of relevant work experience and approximately 5+ years in Project or Program Management experience.

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

  • Strong knowledge of PMP, Agile, SCRUM and/or SAFe methodologies.

  • Change Management implementation experience particularly in process improvement.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Work with multiple teams of people and manage structured plans.

  • Facilitate planning and ideation workshops.

  • Ideally 10+ years in Project or Program Management experience.

  • Approximately 4+ years in the Energy Sector.

  • PMP, SCRUM and/or SAFe certified.

  • OCM certified.
