About the job: As the Senior Director of Software Engineering for our Professional Services Group, you will be responsible for leading a team of software and cloud engineers who deliver state of the art Statewide solutions to our law enforcement and public safety customers in our Coplogic Solutions Business Unit.

You will be responsible for:

  • Defining and implementing customer requirements.

  • Leading teams of both internal and external technology resources.

  • Successfully partnering and leading large offshore/onshore resources in solving complex business needs.

  • Analyzing security, infrastructure, and software development requirements, as well as providing cost estimates, for new business in the form of RFP’s and SOW’s.

  • Meeting or exceeding operational targets, service-level agreements, schedules, quality or cost requirements.

  • Leading a team of Site Reliability Engineers, ensuring alignment with the SRE framework and policies pertaining to security, reliability and cost containment best practices.

  • Making long- and short-term decisions in relationship to product development strategies as they relate to the overall business strategy.

  • Performing reviews to ensure enterprise and architectural standards and processes are followed.

  • Utilizing best practices and understanding emerging trends.

  • Developing leaders to build senior leadership bench strength.

  • Writing advanced complex code for computer systems and serving as a senior source of expertise.

  • Managing system and user acceptance testing cycles to ensure accurate and quality business solutions.

  • Leading the development of technical standards and performing reviews to ensure enterprise and architectural standards and processes are followed.

  • Serving as a primary technical point of contact for external technology resources.

  • Recommending technical strategy and direction across functional area.

  • Participating in development and evolution of architecture.

  • Consulting with stakeholders to find alternative work-arounds during system outages.

  • Providing design input across a product.

  • Working directly with customers and end users.

  • Designing and working with complex data models.

  • Seeking diverse ideas and perspectives from a variety of sources to create better solutions, products, and services.

  • Carrying out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Ensuring all staff is provided with training and resources needed to perform their jobs to the most outstanding degree possible. Ensuring all staff is provided with frequent feedback and coaching in order to meet and exceed individual and team performance goals consistently.

  • Managing and encouraging new ideas from staff to foster improvements through innovations.

  • Empowering the staff to be accountable and responsible for their own actions and decisions.


  • 15+ years of Software Development experience with a focus on Microsoft Technologies

  • Experience with hosted Blazor WebAssembly and .NET MAUI Blazor Hybrid Visual Studio templates in addition to the newer Blazor Web App template with an understanding of the changes between templates.

  • ASP.NET Core 3.1 to 8.0 including MVC, Razor Pages and Blazor

  • Entity Framework 6 & Entity Framework Core

  • Expert in C# ASP.NET Core front end to back end with a very heavy focus and comprehensive understanding on Microsoft front-end technologies such as MVC, Razor Views and Razor Pages, as well backend technology such as WebApi.

  • Solid skill sets in HTML, CSS/Bootstrap and JavaScript/jQuery

  • 7+ years of Software Development leadership experience

  • Professional Services/Consulting experience

  • BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required; advanced degree preferred
