What is it that we do at Colonial Pipeline Company?

Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. Colonial transports various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, and fuels for the U.S. military through a pipeline system. Colonial transports approximately 45 percent of all fuel consumed on the East Coast, providing refined products to more than 50 million Americans.

About the Scheduler Position

The Scheduler role is level entry/developmental position designed to train qualified candidates. As a Scheduler, you will continue to grow in additional assignments and responsibilities as on the job training progresses and competencies are demonstrated. You will evaluate shipper nominations and produce the schedules from point of origin to destination under the guidance of Sr. Schedulers and the Supervisor of Scheduling.

What You Get to Do:

  • Review, analyze, organize and schedule shipper nominations in a manner that efficiently and cost effectively uses company assets while minimizing power costs and product quality issues.

  • Produce product movement schedules that allow Controllers and other system operators to execute and maintain safe and cost effective operations.

  • Produce an operating schedule that provides accurate information to shippers so they can appropriately manage their business and inventory expectations.

  • Monitors on a regular basis the availability of product and shipper needs to anticipate future problems and minimize line disruptions to meet shipper requirements.

  • Analyzes and reports on local market conditions and customer needs in a manner that will enhance Colonial’s business and its customer relationships.

  • Coordinates planned maintenance and required system shutdowns with Colonial personnel in Operations and Engineering and communicate any potential impact to affected shippers.

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for Colonial customers and develop the ability to analyze and resolve their issues regarding the movement of product through the system.

  • Enforces the Shipper Manual and the FERC Rules and Regulations.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; will consider a combination of experience and/or education.

  • Ideally, 2+ years direct pipeline operations experience.

  • Ability to be on 24/7 call as needed.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of pipeline operations.

  • Commitment to consistently adhere to policies and procedures and be a positive example for others by demonstrating the Company’s core values of Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Safety, and Excellence in completing work assignments.

  • Self-motivated, have a phenomenal work ethic and looking for the right company to support your growth.
