Siemens' Digital Industries Motion Control business is one the world leading suppliers of products, systems, and solutions for drive technology and for controllers for machine tools.

We are looking for new engineering graduates to join the Engineering Leadership Development Program (Digital Industries – Motion Control). This is a two-year rotational position requiring you to relocate every eight months (three rotations). Your first two rotations will be based in Alpharetta, GA and Elk Grove Village, IL and your third (final) rotation at the global Headquarters of the Siemens Motion Control Business in Erlangen, Germany.

You’ll create impact by:

  • Designing and sizing electromechanical systems (controllers, motors, and drives) for machines.

  • Provide client-focused support by collaborating with customers internal teams on engineering projects during the pre-sales phase.

  • Implement customer solutions and reducing time-to-market with innovative digital IIOT (industrial internet of things) technologies, additive manufacturing, digital drive train, and robotics.

  • Using your engineering background, creativity, and unique skill set to create new methodologies, improve processes, and implement go-to-market strategies.

  • Attending prominent industrial automation trade shows and trainings.

  • Participating in additional training and technical work during a final rotation in Germany, acquiring international experience, and applying your broadened business insights upon your return to the U.S.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree: rising graduates (must graduate by December 2024 and be available to begin fulltime employment in January 2025).

  • Majors: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering.

  • Strong programming foundations in any environment, including PLCs, HMIs, Java, Python, C/C++, C#, iOS or Android, web development.

  • Resourcefulness and a desire to challenge yourself to find the most effective and efficient solutions to complex challenges.

  • Excellent communication skills and strong customer focus.

  • Must be willing and able to relocate domestically and internationally for each rotation (relocation assistance is provided if relocating more than 50 miles from your permanent address) and regularly travel for business, as required by the program.

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3.0 GPA or higher.

  • Experience with motion control, control systems, CNC machine tools, robotics, Ethernet-based networking, power electronics, and/or mechanical statics and dynamics.

  • The pay rate for this position is $81,000 (bachelor's) or $85,000 (master's). The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
