Description

Job Summary: The shipping & receiving personnel manage all incoming and outgoing shipments. Much of their work utilizes the MRP computer system. They work directly with many people from around the plant, such as material handlers and purchasing agents, as well as truck drivers and dealers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures
- Follows all pre-established procedures and guidelines to ensure consistency of work
- Uses hand truck, pallet jack, and various hand tools
- Completes all job duties within given time constraints
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Cross-trains between several different jobs
- Completes various activities, such as accepting deliveries and shipments, checking for order accuracy against the packing slips, receiving purchase orders in the computer system, printing part orders, transferring inventory, utilizing the last box function, preparing items to be shipped, entering shipments into the computer system, and working with dealers when they pick up orders
- Cleans and maintains work area
- Pursues continuous improvement to improve efficiency of job duties and work flow

Ability to work variable hours with short notice (up to 50+ hrs. per week)
Ability to use hand tools and some power tools to construct shipping supports and crates
Physical Requirements and Environment
Must be physically capable of safely lifting a minimum of 60 lbs. without assistance, pushing/pulling 150-300 lb. items with the use of hand trucks or pallet jacks some items are large and/or awkward
Involves standing, bending, and lifting for long periods as required
Requires repetitive movement
Includes and noise levels that are distracting and/or uncomfortable
Requires wearing personal protective equipment
Involves extensive walking and exposure to all weather conditions
Requires ability to hear and respond to radio communications
Requires visual acuity for accurately receiving parts
