We are seeking a motivated and talented intern to join our Process Engineering team in Allschwil, Switzerland. You will help develop cost calculation tools and support process engineering initiatives to enhance our operations.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Development of Cost Calculation Tools

  • Develop and fine-tune cost estimation correlations for various equipment, including columns, shell & tube reboilers, condensers, spiral condensers, plate heat exchangers, decanters, compressors and fans, pumps, and vacuum pumps.

  • Transfer data from an existing database into a new tool and implement the equations described above.

  • Process Engineering

  • Preparation of several calculation sheets (compilation of the existing ones, rationalization and validation) in order of priority:

  • Line sizing calculation (with the criteria to be used)

  • Sizing of column bottom

  • Drums sizing

  • Pumps sizing

  • Develop master Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for standard processes such as methanol recovery, bioethanol purification, solvents recovery, and plastic quenching.

  • Create master simulations.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Chemical / Process Engineering, or related subject.

  • Familiarity with chemical engineering activities such as: process simulation and unit operations.

  • Microsoft Office skills and some experience with a process simulation tool such as ProII, Chemcad, AspenPlus, HYSIS or equivalent, is an advantage.

  • Strong organizational skills, collaborative team player, and adept critical thinker capable of tackling challenges effectively.

  • Fluency in English, knowledge of other languages are a plus.
