DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerk Typist 2, you will serve as the Agency receptionist on a daily basis providing effective and efficient communication between the Agency and the community including answering three incoming phone lines and transferring appropriately, recording all voice messages from overnight, retrieving and distributing all incoming faxes at the reception area, and maintaining the "Daily Schedule" which records the office attendance of entire staff along with meetings and overnight staffing. You will be responsible for maintaining current phone lists, confirming on-call staff assignments on a daily basis, and maintaining the log of equipment used by on-call staff. In addition, as needed, you will provide assistance to clerical support staff including but not limited to: Preparing and processing case files for court as well as openings, transfers, closings, and mailing court orders Processing incoming mail by opening, stamping, distributing and completing labels Filing and scanning closed files Completing routine letters, appointments, and case acknowledgements Operating office equipment Performing additional duties as needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 and educational development to the level of eighth grade; or Completion of a high school business curriculum which included at least one typing course; or Any combination of equivalent experience and training.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within  Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Montgomery, Northampton, or Schuylkill counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
