Description

We are looking for a diligent Bookkeeper to join our team in the healthcare industry in Allentown, Pennsylvania, United States. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing resident charges, processing claims, and ensuring accurate payment. This role provides an opportunity for long-term contract employment and requires skills in Medicare, Billing, and Claims Processing.

Responsibilities:

  • Review their insurance coverage and discuss potential out of pocket expenses; review the potential need for Medical Assistance and program requirements. Set up EFT and offer to establish an RFMS to manage resident funds.

  • Collaborate with Revenue Cycle Manager to develop goals related to the accounts receivable and cash receipts.

  • Work independently to achieve accounts receivable/collection goals through room visits, phone calls, letters, and prompt recognition of collection issues.

  • Reconcile SNF census with inter-departmental team. Attend morning meeting and report trends that may affect the revenue cycle.

  • Verify insurance coverage for new admissions, readmissions, and current resident roster for the SNF.

  • Continually assesses residents’ financial status to determine potential Medicaid eligibility.

  • Notify PATHS when resident needs to begin the MA application process.

  • Process all monthly resident invoices and respond to all inquiries related to the billing within Twenty-Four (24) hours.

  • Accept and log cash receipts in accordance with the cash posting process.

  • Reconcile the cash postings to deposits on a weekly basis, ensuring the smooth completion of monthly closeout.

  • Ensures all charges are entered timely and accurately.

  • Complete tasks and processes for months end close.

Requirements

• Proficient in Medicare billing and claims processing

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

• Demonstrated ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records

• Proficient in the use of MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with relevant accounting software

• Knowledge of data management and financial data analysis

• An associate degree in finance, accounting or business is an advantage

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity

• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

• Strong time management and organizational skills.
