DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position is responsible for the administration of a Protective Service Program as mandated by the Older Adults Protective Services Act within the Pennsylvania Department of Aging case management structure. You will perform care management supervision encompassing the Older Adults Protective Services Act and the Guardianship Law. Your work will ensure Care Managers are conducting thorough investigations within time and all other requirements, help develop care plans that reduce or eliminate risk to older adults by utilizing contracted services or establishing links to other community resources, and provide consultation on cases that may require a court intervention or approval for utilizing the agency's contracted medical professional.
Excellent communication skills are essential as you will also be a liaison to Orphans' Court, County Law Department, Legal Aid of the Lehigh Valley, Lawyer Referral Service, and local court-appointed solicitors. Other responsibilities include coordinating the development of program standards and objectives with the Executive Director, participating in Agency budget development and reviewing agency expenditures, and coordinating enrichment trainings for the protective services unit. You will also have the opportunity to educate the public and encourage awareness of elder abuse by participating in trainings, community events, and public speaking events. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch, and on-call hours. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Four years of experience in public or private social work; and a Bachelor's Degree; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training including successful completion of 12 semester hours of college level courses in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related social sciences.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Lehigh County. Legal Requirements: This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
