Nine farmworkers needed for general farm labor, including the hand harvest of apples, peaches, raspberries, Christmas trees, and nursery stock. Workers will perform tasks under supervision in orchard and nursery operations. Responsibilities include: - General maintenance of farm, orchard, and nursery - Weeding, shoveling, hoeing, mowing, thinning, and pruning - Grafting and tying trees - Planting and transplanting fruit trees - Trunk painting and hand fertilizing - Installing tree screens/grow tubes and laying mylar in orchards - Operating vehicles, tractors, and agricultural equipment, including forklifts - Routine repairs and maintenance of farm equipment and tools - Conducting repairs on farm buildings - Constructing and maintaining trellises and deer fencing - Installing and maintaining irrigation systems and drain tile - Packing employer's produce and cleaning/sanitizing packing equipment and buildings - Completing harvest preparation tasks, including washing and repairing harvesting bins - Hand harvesting apples, peaches, raspberries, Christmas trees, and nursery stock to quality standards - Spraying crops with tractor and spray attachment Additional Duties: - Preparing fields/soil for planting and maintaining evergreens - Trimming, shearing, staking, and removing cones from trees - Spreading compost and wood chips around the nursery - Sorting Christmas trees by size and grade, applying colorant, and using a mechanical tree baler - Harvesting bough material and planting seedlings - Preparing nursery stock for digging and packaging seedlings for shipping - Performing general tasks such as cleaning and removing debris from the orchard/nursery and removing old trees/shrubs Work will occur in Allegan, Van Buren, and Kalamazoo Counties, Michigan.

Work schedule is generally 36 hours per week, Monday through Saturday. Additional hours may be offered but not required.
