Responsibilities
Performs inspections and evaluations of existing conditions for various electrical equipment and systems for proper installation, problem identification/ trouble shooting, and overall improvements
Ensures system event assessments and RCA are performed for equipment failures and implements corrective actions, confirming proper mitigation plans are in place
Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and design plans related to projects and analysis of increasing scope and complexity
Conducts independent engineering work, receiving guidance on the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria
Performs power system modeling and analyses utilizing software tools and applications; stays informed of technology advancements, market trends, and relevant guidelines and standards related to energy technology
Ensures the performance of day to day preventive maintenance activities to maintain equipment and ensure continued operation according to required standards including
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) quality and environmental and reliability standards
Helps ensure infrastructures supporting processes are validated/qualified throughout their life cycle
Develops the engineering facility design, including but not limited to electrical system design, such as sizing, creating one-line diagrams, and selecting equipment
Assists in the development of new technology and standards strategy and the implementation of strategies into business operations to improve power system funcionality and quality of service to customers
Act as project sponsors with some technical assistance when responding to technical questions requiring project modification to move projects through their lifecycle.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in a scientific/technical/math field.
Two or more years of experience performing engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.
Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in EMS/SCADA/Process Control Systems. Demonstrate knowledge and extensive skills in Instrumentation and Control technologies. Experience with DNP 3.0, Modbus and Inter Control Center Protocol (TASE2/ICCP). Demonstrate experience working with automation devices/equipment.
Knowledge of the SCE Electric System, and the role that SCADA / Remote Telemetry plays in the operation SCE Transmission, Sub Transmission, and Distribution systems.
Must have good analytical skills to troubleshoot complex problems related to real-time systems. This would include: understanding architecture for systems that have high availability and resiliency, knowledge of IT network communication protocols and equipment.
Must have good oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused to understand and appropriately respond to clients’ business needs. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaborate with end-users, vendors, project teams, management and external working groups.
Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze, prepare and present project information, and make sound decisions that have moderate to significant business impact.
Experiencing leading and coordinating projects, with the ability to manage high volumes of work and meet multiple critical milestones.
Additional Information
This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

The primary work location for this position is Alhambra, CA. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time atlocations within the SCE territory.
Position will require up to 25% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
Relocation does not apply to this position.
