Job Title:  Technical Writer, Joint Test and Evaluation (JTE)

 

Job Description: Serve as the Technical Writer for the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Test and Evaluation (JTE&E), Joint Program Office (JPO) providing the drafting, coordination, editing, and production of technical documents, procedures, and outreach-media documentation in support of the test and evaluation of joint warfighter capabilities and concepts.

 

Job Location: Alexandria, Virginia

Type position: Full time/on-site.

Experience Required:

  • 2 or more years of experience writing, coordinating, and producing technical documents, internal publications, press releases, news articles, and newsletters.

  • Scheduling, coordinating, producing, and distribution of contract event deliverables.

  • Managing and posting program documents on supporting MS SharePoint sites and reviewing the content of supporting website/homepages for security compliance, accuracy, and relevance.

     

    Special Skills/Knowledge/Training Required/Desired:

  • Expert knowledge coordinating outreach materials and other public releases with the applicable Public Affairs Officers to ensure proper security review and authorizations are in place for public release.

  • Expert knowledge in technical writing and editing using word processing applications.

  • Expert knowledge developing documentation guides, procedures, and templates.

  • Producing the annual program/contract highlight booklet that serves as the foundation for input and review by Senior Executive, Oversight, and Legislative agencies.

  • Maintaining archives for outreach documents to stakeholders, clients, and sponsors.

    Security Clearance: possess an active DOD Secret Security Clearance and eligible for Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance within 1 year.

    Education : Bachelor’s Degree,  preferred English, Public Relations, Business Administration or related field.

    Certifications : None.
