Summary

The Senior SAP Analyst is responsible for providing advanced support to the SAP Team, utilizing a deep understanding of both business requirements and system analysis. The role involves comprehensive process design, requirements gathering, and the application of best-practice methodologies. This position actively contributes to application development by identifying needs and recommending solutions that optimize system value for stakeholders. The Senior Analyst assesses project impacts on other business initiatives and ensures alignment with the organization's strategic goals. Additionally, the role oversees SAP enhancements and projects, coordinating requirements traceability, solution overviews, and managing testing efforts such as SIT/UAT. The Senior Analyst also plays a key leadership role, influencing and guiding team members and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

This position will support our IT team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office 2-3 days per week. The ideal candidate will be based out of any of the following locations:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Takes ownership of Enhancements and Projects and delivers them using SAP team members.

  • Gains expertise of critical applications and processes and provides day to day operational support.

  • Leads SIT and UAT efforts.

  • Leads and facilitates interviews and cross-functional sessions with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to elicit and clearly define business requirements.

  • Evaluates information from multiple sources, resolves conflicts, decomposes high-level information into detailed requirements, and identifies underlying needs beyond user requests.

  • Translates business requirements into functional and technical specifications.

  • Produces key deliverables, including software requirement documents, use cases, wireframes, workflow diagrams, and detailed user stories.

  • Develops in-depth expertise in assigned applications and analyzes system integration impacts while defining integration requirements.

  • Participates in demos and sprint reviews to validate development accuracy.

  • Reviews detailed requirements with the project manager or technical lead to ensure scope adherence and alignment with effort estimations.

  • Estimates the level of effort for requirements gathering, develops business analysis work plans, and ensures quality and timeliness of deliverables.

  • Coordinates with Quality Assurance (QA) and development teams to ensure clear understanding of requirements.

  • Participates in or coordinates testing and validation for system fixes, including creating or reviewing test cases with QA.

  • Acts as the primary IT counterpart to the Product Owner or Business Analyst, collaboratively prioritizing and defining continuous improvement requests.

  • Provides problem determination and resolution for system production support issues.

  • Offers guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.

  • Ensures timely identification, tracking, reporting, and resolution of issues, escalating unresolved matters when necessary.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, High School Diploma or Equivalent with relevant work experience required. Computer Science, Business, or Finance/Accounting related degrees preferred.

  • Minimum seven (7) to ten (10) years working as a systems analyst on SAP application development projects.

  • SAP ECC experience a must, S/4 HANA experience preferred.

  • Experience with waterfall and agile software development methodologies.

  • Experience with supporting the Order-to-Cash and Finance line of business.

  • Must have Product Owner/Scrum experience.

  • Experience supporting both enhancement/support projects as well as new development projects.
