Patent and Trademark Office Innovation Recognition Program Specialist in Alexandria, Virginia
Summary This is a competitive career development detail, open to current USPTO employees with program management and/or outreach experience at the GS-12/13 level. Detailees will be selected for up to 120 days and may be extended in increments of up to 120 days for a total detail of one year. The detailee will be selected for a detail assignment to the Office of the Chief Communications Officer commencing on or about January 6, 2025. Responsibilities The activities involve supporting the Innovator Recognition team within OCCO, specifically supporting our programs and partnerships. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, Assisting with internal and external projects, programs, and events. Coordinating projects and events so that they are completed in a timely manner in accordance with project charters and agreements with guidance from the Innovator Recognition team and Branch Chief. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To be eligible for this position, the candidate must possess: Experience with program management and/or outreach. Experience with drafting communications and/or marketing materials. *Candidates selected for this detail at the various grade levels will be expected to perform a portion of all duties listed with varying degrees of supervision and independence depending on the GS level. The work schedule for this detail is Full-Time. Primary duties will be completed via telework and the applicant will be able to flex utilizing one of the agency's approved flex schedules in consultation with the detailee's supervisor. Priority for selection will be given to those qualified candidates who have not had a career development detail or those with the least amount of service on a career development detail within the last four (4) years. Except where justified and agreed upon, an employee shall not serve on a career development detail a second time in the same area.
