Akima Controlled Unclassified Information Specialist in Alexandria, Virginia

Responsibilities
Assists in developing and implementing CUI policies and procedures
Ensures compliance with federal regulations and guidelines, including Executive Order 13556 and 32 CFR Part 2002
Monitors and evaluates NSF’s CUI practices and processes to identify areas for improvement
Conducts risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities related to handling and protecting CUI
Develops and recommends mitigation strategies to address identified risks
Develops and delivers training programs and materials to educate staff on CUI requirements and best practices
Conducts regular CUI awareness sessions and refresher courses for employees and contractors
Responds to and investigate CUI-related incidents, breaches, or violations
Coordinates with relevant departments to implement corrective actions and prevent future incidents
Works closely with other departments to ensure comprehensive protection of CUI
Serves as a point of contact for CUI-related inquiries and issues
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or 3-5 years of experience in Information Security, Information Management, or a related field
Strong understanding of federal regulations and guidelines related to CUI
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to develop and deliver training programs
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong verbal presentation skills
Extremely strong technical writing skills
Must be able to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance
Desired Qualifications:
- Secret Clearance preferred
