Nexstar Media Group News Producer in Albuquerque, New Mexico
The morning News Producer produces daily newscast items and produces the weekday morning show from 7am - 9am. You will be responsible for booking interviews with local non-profits and community events to appear live during the morning show, you will decide the order in which stories will be told, write teases and other content, times news programs, edits video, and posts video to the website. It is a fast-paced morning newscast. If you like focusing on local news and community events in a fun and exciting way, this job is for you!
Produce newscasts for broadcast across all platforms
Produce daily segments and packages for weekday live show
Book and schedule in-studio interviews and on-location segments
Evaluate entertainment and cultural value of stories for broadcast and website
Work with production team on taping scheduled and live show management
Writes and orders news stories
Approves scripts
Balances news and feature content to create compelling broadcasts
Edits video
Build relationships with guests, clients, community members and show contributors
Interacts with viewers and users on social media sites
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills :
Journalism degree, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
Producing experience of a live show encouraged
Must have strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize to meet tight deadlines
Experience with ENPS is a plus
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
