Cesar Chavez Foundation Community Service Coordinator-Part Time in Albuquerque, New Mexico
Description
The Cesar Chavez Foundation is a non-profit organization that serves low-income families in California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas through affordable housing and social service programs.
Under the direction of the Regional Program Coordinator, the Community Service Coordinator implements and supervises the After School Program, Resident Services and related activities for effectiveness. This entry-level, part-time position involves the use of judgment, supervisory ability, and skills in resident/community planning. The position is located in a low-income housing complex. Responsibilities include outreach and assistance to all residents on the property. Community Service Coordinators are required to outreach to the community, establish partnership when needed and collaborate with Property Management to help cultivate thriving communities.
THE RESPONSIBILITY:
Maintain all ethical practices of the Cesar Chavez Foundation by serving the community with character, integrity, dignity, and a high degree of professionalism
Run all Si Se Puede Community Center Programs; which consist of an Afterschool Program, Resident Social Services, and fulfil their site’s compliance requirements.
Review lessons, prepares material, takes attendance and completes overview of the day.
Upholds Afterschool program behavior policies and safety procedures.
Create and distribute monthly newsletters, calendar and flyers of events and resources
Friendly, outgoing personality that establishes a welcoming environment within the facility for members and visitors
Skill in maintaining record keeping and document retention systems and in compiling comprehensive reports
THE REQUIREMENTS:
Preferred - Have at least 48 units of college credit from a two-year accredited college or related experience in Education/Youth Development/Community Services
Preferably bilingual
Knowledge of MS Office (Word/Excel), Adobe, and Canva is highly recommended
Able to work in a fast paced environment
Live scan Fingerprint/ background check
Must provide proof of a negative TB test result taken within the last 2 years
Available Monday – Friday, 4 - 4.5 hours during After-School hours (2:00 PM – 6:30 PM)
This position must work on-site in the Learning Center
A valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record for the past three years
Must be First Aid/CPR/AED certified (or obtain within 30 days) and maintain those certifications
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects as required for transportation, set up and conducting activities
