What Your Job Will Be Like:
The Operations Management Group 4710 is seeking a Level 1 Facility Manager for Department 4714, Manufacturing and Lease Portfolio. As the Facility Manager, you will oversee a team responsible for maintaining and operating critical infrastructure in Sandia's Manufacturing District and coordinating with Leased space line partners and landlords. Your role will involve collaborating with line partners, maintenance, and engineering to ensure the reliability of key infrastructure and facilities such as MESA, Neutron Generators, Explosive Technologies, and Power Sources.
On any given day, you may be called upon to:
Lead a team of planners, designers, engineers, building managers, skilled craft, and business personnel to develop, design, and build projects that meet customer requirements while maintaining operations in their facilities.
Manage members of the workforce within the organization, including hiring, professional development, assessment, and performance management, consistent with the mission of the organization.
Utilize your experience in facilities and infrastructure engineering, maintenance, and operation to guide the work of the department.
Manage and coordinate infrastructure planning for extended life projects for MESA and NG Mission-Critical support systems.
Promote operations excellence, agility, and team initiatives by building a manufacturing support culture across the Facilities, construction, and specialty vendors focused on preventing unplanned impacts, with a constant focus on equipment reliability, and improving services and support.
Provide safety leadership by maintaining a presence in the field doing routine safety observations, promoting work plans that incorporate safety controls and including safety agenda items in all team meetings.
Serve as a liaison between the customer and line management for project-specific activities related to site planning, project initiation, infrastructure and construction planning, and integrated land management.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Salary Range:
$133,800 - $227,500
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant STEM discipline plus 8 or more years of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.
Current active DOE Q-level security clearance or equivalent clearance (DOD Top Secret)
Qualifications We Desire:
Four (4) years of demonstrated leadership experience in a related field.
Advanced degree in Engineering or another technical field related to Facilities Management.
Professional registrations and/or certifications in Facilities related areas such as Professional Engineer, Project Management Professional, or Certified Facilities Manager.
Broad knowledge of SNL processes, policies, and procedures related to procurement, finance, and facilities.
Experience planning and managing annual budgets.
Broad and balanced Facilities-related experience (systems engineering, operations, project delivery, planning, and/or design).
Experience supporting a manufacturing operation or Mission Critical Operation.
Experience with the Sandia facility design standards and specifications.

The Operations and Maintenance Center 4700 at Sandia is a dynamic hub dedicated to ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of the facility. With a comprehensive range of services, we specialize in customer interface for small project construction, maintenance, fleet services, custodial support, and waste management.
The Facilities Area Manager (FAM) 4710 teams are the primary point of contact for customers to ensure all services and operations are executed with excellence. This team of professionals works closely with all customers and facilities in Albuquerque and remote sites.

Security Clearance:
Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
