DESCRIPTION OF WORK In the role of a Corrections Mail Inspector within the Department of Corrections, your primary duty will involve ensuring the appropriate management of both incoming and outgoing mail. This will entail the thorough inspection of letters and packages sent to inmates in order to detect and prevent the circulation of any prohibited items. Additionally, you will be tasked with coordinating the distribution of approved items to different sections within the correctional facility, such as libraries and chapels.

Your responsibilities will also include the delivery of publications, magazines, and packages to the state correctional facility. This aspect of the role is crucial in maintaining the smooth operation of the facility and ensuring that inmates have access to approved reading materials and personal items. By diligently carrying out these tasks, you will contribute to the overall security and orderliness of the correctional institution.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of clerical experience, including one year in the field of corrections; or Any combination of experience and/or training which provides the Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. Additional Requirement:

You must be able to perform essential job functions. Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation.
