Responsibilities

Mayo Clinic Health System (MCHS) Southeast Minnesota region is seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible Chest Imaging Radiologists with general skills to join our practice team of 10 highly functioning, collaborative Radiologists. The Southeastern Minnesota region has four major sites – Albert Lea, Austin, Owatonna, and Red Wing. Each site within the region has 2-3 radiologists.

Join a growing practice with incremental MRI including 3T, mobile PET-CT, Mayo Clinic Rochester imaging protocols, IT resources, and physics support. Position provides opportunities for enriching Mayo Clinic Radiology committee representation, academic appointments, and interactions with exceptionally trained and collegial Radiology colleagues across the Midwest and the nation. Group members function as general radiologists, read subspecialty exams relevant to their training, interpret breast imaging, and perform procedures. The basic procedures include joint injections and breast biopsies. The radiologists in the regional group read off a common list using an integrated EMR and PACS, which unifies the sites and distributes the workload.

• This is a general radiology practice that includes breast imaging

• Allows ample opportunity to maintain subspecialty skills across all modalities and subspecialty areas

• Fellowship training is required. Cardiothoracic imaging is preferred, but any subspecialty of radiology is encouraged to apply.

• Daytime hours only. All weeknights or overnights covered by separate team of Mayo radiologists. Minimal call requirements.

• No Procedural Call

• Minimal to no travel

Albert Lea is a community of 18,000 in scenic Southern MN, surrounded by several lakes and located just 90 minutes south of Minneapolis and 60 miles from Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Excellent family amenities include a community focus on education (new high school, superb test scores), 38 city parks, 6 nearby golf courses, cultural events, festivals, performing arts, 250 miles of groomed snowmobile trails, Blazing Star Recreational Trail, and Audubon Nature and Wildlife Preserve. Nearby Austin is a community of 23,000 surrounded by prairies, rivers and valleys just 90 minutes south of Minneapolis/St. Paul and 40 minutes west of Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
