Summary of Role:

The VP, Cloud & Data Center Engineering is responsible for the strategic vision and execution of all design, build, and operationalizing of Broadview’s compute and storage assets, including vendor delivery and relationships, and licensing consumption models. This role is foundational to the integrity and performance of the Enterprise Infrastructure Platform.

This role leads teams of engineers and managers, owns managed service provider and business relationships to execute initiatives and achieve outcomes in support of organizational vision and strategic objectives.

This role works collaboratively within the CIO Division and with other key stakeholders to reach mutually beneficial outcomes across departmental and functional lines. The role participates in security alignment, data retention/protection/ownership optimization, and Microsoft Tenant design and integration.

The role provides leadership to the data center & cloud team to design, implement and transition an innovative technology execution strategy that provides scalability, flexibility, reliability and resiliency as well as positions the organization to be proactive in responding to the ever-changing industry and business needs.

The role develops and mentors individuals within the data center & cloud team to grow and develop within and across the Technology Division.

The VP understands the member and employee experience and finds solutions to enable productivity and simplicity. This role applies business requirements to technical high availability, compute, storage and endpoint frameworks, and technical cloud and on-premise technology delivery to promote strategic and tactical business objectives.

This role enables the business via executing complex design and integration of technology solutions in a highly regulated environment.

The VP, Cloud & Data Center Engineering executes the lifecycle of enterprise-wide systems including operationalizing technology and incident resolution. The role optimizes assets and consumption models in support of expense management.

The VP, Cloud & Data Center Engineering executes strategic technical proficiencies in directing the enterprise complexities of designing and building for the following assets/services- servers, operating systems, storage area networks, virtualization, VDI, backup and restores, scripting administrator tools, application installations, databases and Active Directory and Identity Access, AWS tenant, and Microsoft O365 tenant delivery, and tools.

The role is accountable for the completion of compute, storage, and endpoint project and operational outcomes. It will include hands-on technical work where necessary to ensure successful execution of team assignments.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Owns the development, implementation, and transition of compute, storage, endpoint engineering projects.

  • Directs the execution of technical compute, storage, and endpoint engineering operation practices aligned with industry standard frameworks.

  • Ensures data center and cloud engineering delivery meets organizational service obligations.

  • Owns technical operation performance metrics, trends, and corrective actions, including continuous improvement.

  • Owns incident response and recovery 24/7.

  • Manages the security posture, performance, and capacity lifecycle of compute, storage, and endpoint infrastructure. · Models licensing costs based on data retention, protection, and optimization scenarios.

  • Directs the execution of vendor relationships and performance to agreed service levels and contractual commitments.

  • Directs the execution of activities associated with data center & cloud engineering operation performance, availability, and reliability including capacity planning, trends, cyber threat remediation, and application performance.

  • Reviews issues and makes recommendations for process improvements.

  • On call support.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • 15 years minimum – designing, building, and operationalizing complex delivery of cloud and data center engineering services channels to match or exceed industry best practices/standards and CIS standards.

  • 10 years minimum – managing and building high-performing reliability engineering teams for cloud-based applications in medium to large-scale organizations.

  • MBA or master’s degree in a technology or business-related field.

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, information systems, engineering or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, FinOps Certified Practitioner or similar industrystandard cloud certifications preferred.

  • Financial services industry experience preferred.

  • Experience must include similar tools, manufacturers and working knowledge of industry best practices/standards and CIS standards. Skills

  • Experience leading a major technology implementations and projects, including strategizing, and executing Data Center consolidation.

  • Experience working with managed service providers including managing service level agreements.

  • Proven record in managing infrastructure in on-premise and cloud and hosted environments.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing transformational change/projects.

  • Experience successfully leading and managing multiple operational and strategic business projects with varying complexity.

  • Proven collaborative leadership with effective negotiation, interpersonal and partnering skills.

  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in Cloud (AWS, Azure) and Data Center (Windows servers, Active Directory, Storage Systems, Virtualization/VMWare) technologies.

  • Project planning skills with the ability to handle large workload, anticipate required tasks and milestones, and facilitate activities of dynamic teams.

  • Working knowledge of project management lifecycle, tools, and techniques.

  • Strong written, verbal and listening communication skills.

  • Strong time management skills, attention to details, ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines and ambiguous requirements.

  • Individual should be familiar with concepts such as ITIL relating to IT practices and IT service management.

  • Advanced Microsoft 365 knowledge and experience.

Starting Compensation: $220,000-$250,000, plus a competitive benefits package.
