Job Description

Catholic Charities Disabilities Services (CCDS), a leader in services for individuals with developmental disabilities, has a full time opening for a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP), within our Residential Services Department.

Job Summary: The Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) functions as the coordinator of case files and services for individuals living in Individualized Residential Alternative (IRA) programs. The QIDP is a key member of the individuals’ interdisciplinary team and is responsible for ensuring that individuals receive quality services and supports, including residential, clinical and day services. The Coordinator will work with individuals living in IRA’s, care managers and others involved in their lives to achieve person-centered goals that reflect each individual’s desires and abilities.

Responsibilities include; but are not limited to:

  • Provides leadership, direction and training in order to supervise the overall quality of life for our individuals.

  • Manages team meetings.

  • Oversees admission, evaluation, program development and implementation, program documentation and discharge.

  • Develops and writes the Staff Action Plan with the individual and team. Coordinates and ensures the overall development, periodic evaluation and review of each individuals and Life Plan. Supervises the delivery of training and rehabilitative services relative to this plan.

  • Assists in arranging admission and/or discharge and will work closely with facility staff, family members and agency representatives in coordinating these processes.

  • Will remain familiar with each individual’s total program, current status and family or agency interaction as it pertains to each individual.

  • Conduct DSP in-services education when necessary, participate in seminars and/or workshops, work closely with agency representatives and assume administrative responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Maintain a record keeping system that ensures consistency, confidentiality and agency standards.

  • Promotes effective communication with all sources of contact both within the agency and outside of the agency.

  • Demonstrates strong productivity and leadership abilities, problem identification and solving abilities.

  • Perform other duties as may be necessary for the wellbeing of the agency and the individuals served.

  • Maintain a good working relationship and appropriate boundaries with individuals, their families, and agency co-workers.

    Location: Capital Region


  • Must hold the designation of Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) under the regulations of the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities.

  • Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Social Work, Special Education, Education, Human Services or Psychology is required.

  • A minimum of 1 year experience working with an individual(s) with a developmental disability, is required.

  • A valid NYS driver’s license and personal transportation is required.

  • Capable of performing all physical requirements of the position.

  • Ability to generate electronic reports and documents in required.
