Project Engineer – Underground Transmission Line

Location: New York Area

About the Role: Join our innovative team as a Project Engineer, specializing in high voltage underground transmission line projects ranging from 69kV to 500kV. You will be responsible for routing, designing, and executing these projects, with opportunities to grow into a technical lead role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop design criteria and specifications for transmission line design and material procurement.

  • Estimate project costs and conduct quality control reviews.

  • Regularly meet and correspond with clients and external personnel.

  • Travel for project site visits and field reviews.

  • Support business development initiatives in the transmission line market.

Who You Are:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer or preparing to take the PE exam soon.

  • Have 4+ years of experience in routing and designing high voltage underground transmission line facilities.

  • Proficient in design software such as MATLAB, CYMCAP (cyme), ETAP, PSS/E, DigSILENT PowerFactory, Cableizer, and SKM Power Tools.

  • Experienced with geotechnical reporting and familiar with design codes and standards like NESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318.
