University at Albany Part-Time French Instructor (Elementary I and Intermediate I) in Albany, New York

The University at Albany's Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures seeks a part-time instructor to teach two 3-credit sections of French 101 (Elementary I) and possibly French 221 (Intermediate I) Spring 2024, starting 1/17/24.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and delivery of class lectures, projects, and other student assignments

  • Designing instruction based on the appropriate learning objectives of each course

  • Holding weekly office hours

  • Attending French program meetings and events.

    Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree and native or near-native fluency

  • Demonstrated ability to use online teaching tools

  • Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community

  • Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging relative to their role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in university or college-level teaching at an American institution

  • Master's degree in French language and culture or related field

  • Experience in applying communicative approaches to language teaching, including task-based, proficiency-oriented instruction.
