Medical Coder

Overview of PositionThe Medical Coder will assign appropriate ICD 10 CM and/or CPT codes to patient records for Anesthesia. The Medical Coder will analyze, enter, and manipulate the database to confirm appropriate DRG assignments.What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Assigned appropriate ICD-10 or CPT codes to patient records

  • Meet productivity standards

  • Identify any issues or trends and bring them to the attention of management

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • A minimum of 2 years of Anesthesia coding experience with ICD-10 and CPT-4

  • A minimum of 3 years of general work experience

  • Professional Coding Certification (CPC, CCA, CCS or CCS-P)

  • High school diploma

  • Knowledge of the medical coding process

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Organized and detail-oriented is critical

  • Computer literate

What are the working conditions and physical requirements of this job?
