  • Medical Coding Quality Auditor 2

Overview of Position

Conduct audits of medical coding to increase coding accuracy and identify opportunities for improvement and training within an organization that provides healthcare patient services. Review audit results with medical coding management and staff. Provide training on coding guidelines, medical terminology, and proper documentation techniques. Serve as resource for information on coding standards and regulatory requirements.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • To perform Anesthesia coding quality assurance reviews on clients

  • Be responsible for understanding all client pathways.

  • Knowledge in national coding guidelines with CMS, AMA, AHA

  • Performing QA's in a Microsoft Excel-based tool.

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC or CANPC), additional certifications preferred, e.g., CPMA

  • 5 years of anesthesia coding experience

  • Surgical CPT/ASA Coding in a Teaching Environment

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • 3 years of quality assurance auditing experience

  • Proficient with Excel and MS office products

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Problem Solving
