JOB PURPOSE:

DRB is seeking an experienced, collaborative and highly motivated accounting professional who will play a critical role in supporting DRB’s revenue recognition, mergers and acquisitions, technical accounting matters, accounting policies, and internal controls including SOX compliance. The Senior Accountant of Technical Accounting will lead the day-to-day operations related to the functions for items noted above. This unique role will provide broad experience and exposure to key business transactions while reporting directly to the Sr. Director, Controller. This role works closely with the entire accounting and finance function in addition to our cross-functional internal departments.

As a key member of DRB’s Finance team, you will be based in DRB headquarters in Akron, OH.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Expert on accounting matters, partnering with others on structuring policies and advising with respect to accounting implications.

• Strategically partner with leadership to ensure alignment of direction and financial decisions.

• Monitor regulatory trends, providing guidance and documentation on technical accounting decisions.

• Establish and implement accounting policies and financial controls.

• Evaluate current accounting practices and policies to drive continuous improvement.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with Vontier corporate accounting functions, including technical accounting and SOX reviews.

• Liaise with internal and external auditors. Provide timely and accurate documentation to address audit requests.

• Special projects and other related activities on an ad hoc basis

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ideally have 3+ years of experience with a mix of public accounting and industry experience with a public company.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting

  • MBA & CPA is a plus.

  • Success leading through transformative change.

  • Skilled at designing and implementing efficient processes, SOX compliant and scalable.

  • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

  • Detailed working knowledge of GAAP and SOX.

  • Experience working with a SaaS (software as a service) business is highly valued.
