Cleveland Clinic Inventory Coordinator in Akron, Ohio

Cleveland Clinic's Akron General Hospital is looking to add an Inventory Coordinator to their dedicated team of caregivers. As an Inventory Coordinator, you will be a liaison between the department and Supply Chain Management to ensure that inventory levels reflect the department's needs and are managed by established policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for inventory integrity at the department location.

FT 1st shift

Responsibilities:

  • Manages all phases of ordering, receiving, distribution, and warehousing of all essential departmental equipment and supplies.

  • Coordinates all aspects of the processing and inventory RFID products and maintain separation of the inventory methods.

  • Manage the computerized RFID registration process. Resolve errors by investigation and coordination with clinical staff, vendors, and the purchasing department.

  • Monitors MMIS inventory metrics to manage product expiration and availability.

  • Understand and work within the guidelines of the perpetual inventory process.

  • Implements, manages, and maintains inventory systems to order, control, expedite, and inventory supplies to enhance the fiscal management of the department.

  • Schedules and coordinates the daily flow of activity for receiving, providing guidance to inventory processors.

  • Resolves shipping and receiving issues directly with the vendor or carriers.

  • Manage exception to processes. Notify MMIS team of price changes part number changes, units of measure changes, etc. Troubleshoots issues and helps facilitate problem resolution.

  • Coordinates the receipt and storage of supplies on the dock and within bulk storage.

  • Performs administrative functions related to the department inventory control and distribution.

  • Communicates with departments Directors and Clinical Managers regarding inventory levels and product order status.

  • Initiates problem solving involving inventory and equipment when needed.

  • Produces monthly statistical reports, completes a physical inventory and performs cycle counts as required.

  • Participates in the planning and implementation of new procedures, policies and systems.

  • Maintains the proper and appropriate professional and ethical relationships with all vendor representatives, conducts business according to established principles and guidelines.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Follows Hospital and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety.

  • Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department-specific competencies and requirements.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

C ertifications:

  • None required.

Complexity of Work:

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

  • Able to communicate efficiently with others.

  • Able to efficiently and effectively handle shifting and multiple priorities.

  • Requires creative problem solving, organization skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 yrs. experience in inventory control functions with responsibility for par levels, purchasing functions, inventory analysis, and usage trends.

  • Preferred experience in healthcare supply chain function.

  • Previous experience and working knowledge of an automated Materials Management Information System.

  • Proficient in the use of software applications including spreadsheet and word processing.

  • In lieu of 2 yrs. experience, a 4-year degree in supply chain management.

  • On-the-Job Training: Six months on-the-job training required to learn specialized surgery components, inventory systems, and departmental policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.

  • May require periods of sitting, standing and the ability to walk to various locations throughout the health system to attend meetings.

  • Must have normal or corrected vision and be able to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person.

  • Must have own transportation to travel to multiple sites.
