Akron General's Operating Room (O.R.) department has a team of dedicated caregivers that work collaboratively to provide the best possible care for their surgical patients. These caregivers are eager and excited to add an Experience Registered Nurse (RN) to their team.

A caregiver in this position works days, 7 a.m. -- 5:30 p.m. This .75 FTE position requires on-call shifts and start times may vary.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide direct nursing care.

• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.

• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions.

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.

• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

• Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.

• Educate patients and their families.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

• One-year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider military RN experience.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).

• One year of OR experience as a RN
