Eaton Corporation Additive Manufacturing Technician (Tecnico Solidworks) in Aguascalientes, Mexico
Eaton’s VGNA division is currently seeking an Additive Manufacturing Technician to join our team. This position is based at our Aguascalientes Engine Valve Facility.
The Additive Manufacturing Technician will support the deployment of Industry 4.0 initiatives and model lines, mainly focused on polymer and metal 3D printing.
Job duties support the 3D design of tooling, pieces and spares, keep the 3D printer’s usage above goal, and generate cost out thru improvements. Implementation of 3D print outs need to support factory margins, product delivery performance, employee safety and reductions in product/process abnormality, and might be linked to IDEAS process.
Some activities related with the position will be:
Works with the engineering, maintenance and CI team to detect necessities and implement 3D solutions
Participates in Eaton Lean System (ELSS) assessments and identify performance gaps. Works supporting CI Engineer with deployment / training related to Additive Manufacturing and Holo Lens as support.
Executes benchmark thru valve sites and other Eaton locations to identify and implement AM best practices
Applies Lean and Six Sigma concepts to eliminate waste thru Industry 4.0
Assure environmental, health and safety requirements are satisfied when the projects are implemented.
Manages the Additive Manufacturing log, creates SW and report outs to region and SLT.
Coordinates the MIN MAX of raw materials for 3D printer, executes autonomous maintenance and if required coordination with manufacturer technicians for any downtime repair.
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
6 months to 1 year of related experience
Bachelor’s degree in a technical area or equivalent
Mechanical engineering or specialty with Design
Bi-lingual (Spanish and English)
Drive for results and willing to learn continuously
Proficient in Power Point, Excel, SolidWorks (3D), AutoCAD (2D)
Ability to support in multiple projects/activities
Experience in machining, grinding processes
Formal training/certification in SOLIDWORKS
Cost out calculations prior experience
Automotive industry experience
Knowledge of forging, welding, machining and grinding
Expertise with IATF 16949
