A Typical Day

The Assistant Vice President Employee Relations w orks with employees at all levels of the Company to resolve a variety of human resources issues. Serves as a subject matter expert in relevant areas of employee relations to mitigate human capital risks associated with internal policies, programs, laws and regulations. May include interpreting and ensuring compliance with employment law, providing mediation and conflict resolution, providing advice, counseling and guidance to managers and employees to resolve questions, concerns and complaints, coordinating and conducting formal and informal investigations, recommending appropriate corrective actions and developing, implementing, and interpreting HR policies and programs.

The Assistant Vice President Employee Relations will :

  • Oversee and maintain effective organization-wide employee relations programs through proper planning, direction, evaluation, and leadership to enable Pennymac to retain a highly skilled, competent, and engaged workforce

  • Deliver employee relations support and services through timely and effective consultation with managers and employees, including coaching, conflict resolution, workplace investigations, and reductions in force

  • Provide guidance on performance management, including performance improvement, corrective action, and employment terminations

  • Conduct objective and thorough formal and informal employment related investigations and produce accurate and appropriately detailed documentation to support findings

  • Oversee/handle all areas of the Leave of Absence (LOA) process, including ADA/Disability Management/ADA Accommodations and the interactive process. Manage leave status evaluations and determinations in accordance with Company policies and state and federal regulations

  • Ensure consistent documentation and reporting for data analytics, risk mitigation, issue and trend analysis and root cause remediation

  • Provide litigation support/respond to subpoena requests

  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

  • Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization’s desired culture and values

What You’ll Bring

  • Excellent conflict resolution skills, including experience leading and conducting internal investigations.

  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret applicable federal, state, and local employment law and regulations

  • General Computer skills: including use of Microsoft Office Suite. Must be proficient in Excel and Word

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills

  • Financial Services and, if possible, mortgage industry experience preferred

  • Strong business acumen and ability to interface with executive management

    Compensation: Individual salary may vary based on multiple factors including specific role, geographic location / market data, and skills and experience as defined below:

  • Lower in range - Building skills and experience in the role

  • Mid-range - Experience and skills align with proficiency in the role

  • Higher in range - Experience and skills add value above typical requirements of the role

    Some roles may be eligible for performance-based compensation and/or stock-based incentives awarded to employees based on company and individual performance.

Salary

$90,000 - $150,000
