Outstanding long-term contract opportunity! A well-known Financial Services Company is looking for a Peoplesoft Administrator in Addison, TX (Hybrid).

To be a successful PeopleSoft Administrator, a combination of technical, analytical, and soft skills is necessary. Here are the key skills required:

Technical Skills

  1. PeopleSoft Architecture:

  2. Understanding of the overall PeopleSoft architecture, including the database, application server, web server, and process scheduler.

  3. Database Management:

  4. Proficiency in database management systems like Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2.

  5. Ability to perform tasks such as database backups, restores, and performance tuning.

  6. Operating Systems:

  7. Familiarity with operating systems such as Unix, Linux, and Windows.

  8. Knowledge of system administration and shell scripting.

  9. PeopleTools:

  10. Expertise in PeopleTools, the proprietary development environment for PeopleSoft applications.

  11. Knowledge of PeopleCode, Application Engine, Integration Broker, Component Interfaces, and other PeopleTools components.

  12. System Monitoring and Performance Tuning:

  13. Skills in monitoring system performance and tuning PeopleSoft applications for optimal performance.

  14. Use of monitoring tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager, and PeopleSoft Performance Monitor.

  15. Application and Web Servers:

  16. Management of application and web servers, including WebLogic, Tuxedo, and WebSphere.

  17. Understanding of load balancing, clustering, and failover techniques.

  18. Security Administration:

  19. Implementation of security measures, including user access control, roles, permissions, and encryption.

  20. Patching and Upgrades:

  21. Experience with applying patches, fixes, and upgrades to PeopleSoft applications and tools.

  22. Knowledge of PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM).

  23. Integration:

  24. Knowledge of integration techniques and tools, including REST/SOAP web services, and SFTP.

  25. Familiarity with integration middleware like Oracle SOA Suite.

  • Review and analyze basic or tactical Systems Operations Engineering assignments or challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives, related to low-to-medium risk deliverables.

  • Present recommendations for resolving low to moderately complex situations and exercise some independent judgment while developing understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

  • Provide information to client personnel in Systems Operations Engineering.
